   An informal and personalized approach to learning Spanish. Unlike a college class, you can go at your own pace and learn what you want to. You have the freedom of focusing on oral communication, written communication or both. This class is free and open to the public, whether you’re a beginning to advanced Spanish student.
   The class will be taught by Yavapai College Spanish instructor Jared Reynolds, an Arizona native. Reynolds lived in Venezuela for two years and studied Spanish at Northern Arizona University. He has been teaching at Yavapai College for eight years.

Description:  The first total solar eclipse since 1979 to be seen over the North American Continent will occur on Monday, August 21st, 2017.  Although totality will not be seen from Arizona, the Moon will cover up nearly sixty-eight percent of the Sun for those in the verde Valley.  As part of the Summer Reading program, J.D. Maddy of the Astronomers of Verde Valley will give a presentation about the Sun.  Those attending will have a chance to see the sun safely with special telescopes designed to view the Sun in different wavelengths of light.  Come out and learn about the Sun and how to view it safely.  The presentation will be on Wednesday,  July 12th, in Library meeting Room B.  It will begin at 12 p.m. and the solar viewing will begin outside the library at 1 p.m.

Description:  Gordon Peters, certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation or TM, will give an introduction to the Transcendental Meditation Technique. He will explain why 4,000 Buddhist monks in over 100 monasteries in Asia have started the practice of TM. Jardine is the eldest of seven and taught Industrial Arts at the high school level for several years. She is a lover of history and stories that bring out the resourceful natures we are blessed with. Beyond Bedrock is a story about three young women overcoming orphanhood, poverty and physical abuse. The Old West is a man’s world in which Jenny, Belle, and Beatrice fight back to overcome. The worst of times has brought out the best in them.
