What is "My Account"?
This feature allows you to view a list of the items you currently have checked out or on reserve. You will also be able to cancel holds and renew your materials if they are renewable and there are currently no requests for the item.

Placing a Hold
  • If you want to place a number of holds on items then you can login with your barcode number and password. 
  • Search the Library Catalog by topic, title, author, or subject, and then: 
  • If your search results in more than one item, display the complete record of your selection by clicking on the Details button to the right of the item. 
  • At the lower part of the page, it will indicate if the item is on the shelf or has been checked out. 
  • If the item has been checked out, proceed with placing a hold by doing the following: 
  • Click on the Hold button located to the right of the author/title information box on the screen. 
  • Type in your entire library card barcode number without spaces in the Library Card Number box. 
  • Type the password in the Password box. This should be the last four digits of your phone number. If your phone number changes, you should notify the library as soon as possible so we may update your information. 
  • Click on the Place Hold button. The system will verify your name and library card information. You will then be asked to confirm your hold request. 
  • Click on OK when the confirmation screen appears. You will be notified by mail or email when your requested item is available. If you would like to be notified by email you can log in to My Account and add your email address to your library account. The email address you submit will only be used for library business such as hold notification, overdue notices, etc. All information in your record is kept confidential.
  • Holds will be placed on the self help holds shelf in alphabetical order by last name.

Hold Notification by E-Mail / Add or Update E-Mail Addresses
  • Click on the Tab My Account located at the top of the catalog page 
  • Type in your library card number. 
  • Type in your password. This will be the last four digits of your phone number 
  • Click on the word Profile located in the light green section of the Account Overview 
  • Type in your Email Address. The email address you submit will only be used for library business such as hold notification, overdue notices, etc. All information in your record is kept confidential. 
  • Click on the Update button
  • Close the window.

Renew My Materials
  • Click on the tab My Account located at the top of the catalog page.
  • Type in your library card barcode number and password.
  • Click on the Checked Out option in the green area to review a list of all materials currently checked out.
  • Select the item/s you would like to renew by clicking in the box next to each item and click on the Renew button.
  • You will then see information on the items renewed

Searching the Catalog
Key Word Search in Library Catalog
  • If you know only part of the author and part of the title: 
  • Type in part of the author’s name and part of the title, linking the two with the word “and”. Example: Clark and little girls 
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the records. 
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status  
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
To perform a new search, add new information in the Search box.
 
Author Search
  • To find a particular author’s books: Type in the author’s name in the space provided. Example: Mary Higgins Clark or Clark Mary Higgins. 
  • Click on the Author button.
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the first 10 items. 
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items. 
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status. 
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items. 
  • To perform a new search, add new information in the Search box.
Title Search - to find a particular title: 
  • Type in the complete title or part of the title in the space provided. Example: “Blue Heaven” Click on the Title button. 
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the first 10 items. 
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items. 
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status.
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
Subject Search
  • To get a list of items in a particular subject:
  • Type in a word or phrase that describes what you are looking for in the space provided. Example: woodworking 
  • Click on the Subject button. 
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view items. 
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status. 
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items. Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
